Bailey Pegasus 534

Water coming into locker above bed head through these cable holes.

Clothes from the locker, this alerted us to the problem after returning from a week away.

Also water into the bathroom light

This plastic diffuser had been emptied of swarf before the 55 mile trip but ended up with this result. This must mean that the water had run from somewhere else during our return trip. It was not raining on the trip. We do not use the van shower so it has nothing to do with condensation from steam from the shower.

Post Factory visit

Grommets fitted at the factory after checks. They are certain the water was due to condensation collecting and this was the 'way out' rather than water getting in from the outside.

Up-dated front protection fitted at the factory, but no new/larger bumpers. Unfortunately we have dents on the lower panel in the gap between the new panels.

Position after factory repairs

1 Stone dents to front even though tow car has manufacturers fitted mud flaps.

New protective panels fitted.
2 Door seals keep coming off on the hinge side.

Glued back on
3 Under bed external locker leaking. (door and frame to be replaced)

Frame and door replaced
4 TV returned twice and still not working on FM Transmitter.

Bailey don't deal with tv problems, me to return to Dealer or Avitex
5 Front blind will not latch down.

Adjusted
6 Front locker door will not stay up.

No fault, works if done slowly!

9 Wall distortion in bathroom.

 Washers fitted under hinge
12 Daylight visible above fridge. (ie gas burner not sealed from inside of caravan)

Improved but still a bit of light
13 Very difficult to reduce nose weight to a reasonable figure.

No response other than my age of van will have an empty, as manufactured, nose weight of about 80kg.
14 Pink staining to bumper rubber seals.

Replaced front and back
15 Locker above fire will not stay locked, opens on transit.

16 Condensation/water and dirt in the LED grab handles (Bailey say OK as LEDs are sealed, but will I'm sure get 'mould' in them after a time.)

  Normal, no action taken
17 Front mains socket, beside window, loose.

Fixed
18 Excess mastic blocking the rain deflector channels above the front locker and one of the windows.

  Replaced
20 CRIS window sticker falling off.
      Replaced

Difficult to get a good photo. The side wall where it meets the toilet door frame goes 'in and out' about five times, light can easily be seen coming through from the rest of the van. Unfortunately when one 'pays a visit' it is right in front of you so you keep getting reminded of it.

The three main lights get 'debris' in the shade on each trip.
The one in the photo has been emptied at least six times.

Door seal keeps coming off after each closing.

Cutting out the Mastic!

Some of the mastic removed from the awning channel

Panel from our two year old Bailey Senator Oklahoma, which had severe damp/water ingress from front panel/roof join and needed a new front panel fitted.
Also damp found at rear roof joint!
This was the only reason we changed to a Pegasus as we loved our Oklahoma.

This is the state that The Caravan Hospital, Cardiff left the van after the Warrantee repair!!
I removed the panel to photograph it.
